Our Caregivers
Regency has very high standards when it comes to hiring our Atlanta home care staff. We only hire dependable, professional, and dedicated caregivers who love what they do.
QUALITY:
All employees must be Caregiver Quality Assurance Certified by successfully passing several tests to determine dependability, integrity, and to eliminate those applicants with tendencies toward abuse. All employees must pass a comprehensive state and national background check for criminal and elder abuse and have a clear DMV record check. In addition, we perform a drug screen on every caregiver before they ever arrive at your home….that is not standard practice by many agencies. All of our employees have verified current car insurance, are covered by workman’s compensation and are fully insured. Our agency withholds all payroll and government taxes as they are not subcontractors, but employees. It’s important to know if the home care agency you are hiring has true employees. If they use “contracted” workers, you would be liable for any claim or injury of that caregiver while working in your home. Regency ensures that all of our clients are fully protected for your peace of mind!
TRAINED:
Our caregivers are tested for their clinical knowledge, complete a thorough orientation program and have ongoing continuing education requirements to ensure their competency and update their caregiving knowledge. Our Certified Nursing Assistants are supervised by our Registered Nurse to ensure that the appropriate care is delivered and for ongoing quality control. All of our employees have experience with the elderly and are given training in Alzheimer’s care, infection control, and body mechanics.
CERTIFIED:
All of our caregivers are certified by the state of Georgia as Nurse’s Aides. This means they have completed a state accredited program for providing care as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). They must pass a state competency exam as well as maintain ongoing continuing education to maintain their active status and provide home care in Atlanta. CPR certification is not required by the state of Georgia but it is for all Regency Caregivers…you may be surprised that many agencies do not require this for their caregivers!
COMPASSIONATE:
All of the qualifications and background checks only complete a part of the Regency Home Care caregiver. It takes a special person to be a top-notch caregiver, and we believe our clients deserve only those caregivers possessing special qualities such as patience, understanding, respect, and good listening skills….someone we would feel comfortable with in our own home and as part of our “family.”
COMPATIBLE:
Additionally, during the initial client assessment, clients are matched with caregivers that would best suit their needs. We want every client to feel comfortable with his/her caregiver(s) and will always work promptly regarding any client’s concerns so that satisfaction and quality care can be achieved. We guarantee compatibility!
Our Nurses
Under the leadership of our owner, Lou Ann Gregory, RN, BSN, our team of nurses provides ongoing assessments and direction to our caregivers, ensuring each client’s plan of care is followed and continually updated. Through both phone calls and unannounced home visits with the client and caregiver, our nurses ensure any issues are addressed promptly. We are committed to being a knowledgeable resource and advocate for every client and their family.
We are a proud participant in the Leading Home Care's Caregiver Quality Assurance Program.
